Thoughts:

*I received an eARC from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review*

For the first time since she’s been gone, I think maybe I can do this. I can figure out how to live my life.

This book is AMAZING. I love it. It’s a moving story and a powerful one. It teaches one about being brave with your life. And that love is never gone, even if your loved one passes away. There will always be a piece left of them for you to keep.

It’s a book about love, loss, moving on, courage, lists, ROADTRIPS, trust, and family. The perfect summer book! The themes worked well with the story and were conveyed well! If you’re a fan of Morgan Matson’s books, I think you would like or love this! I did.

I definitely felt a connection with the characters, especially Anna. I felt her grief throughout the book. It is painful to lose the person you looked up to your whole life. More so, your sister. I also saw how she tried to be brave with everything she does. Slowly she tries to move on with her sister’s death.

The other characters like Aunt Morgan and Cameron are amazing characters! I would love to have an aunt like Aunt Morgan and a guy like Cameron! Cameron is so sweet and thoughtful, I love him!

The content of the bucket list were good choices! It contained stuff like “Get a Tattoo”, “Kiss in the Rain”, “Take Pictures of Everything”, etc. It REALLY help make the story beautiful. Ahhh the ending is so beautiful!

“I can live my life, I think. Even without her, I can live my life. She’ll be with me forever, the one I want to tell my life to first, the one who will shape my future without a word.”

The writing was smooth and easy to understand! If only I didn’t have a lot of schoolwork, I could have flew through this! The plot was fun as well! Especially the parts where they did the stuff for the bucket list!

The only thing I didn’t like was a bit of the romance. This may not be a problem for everyone but it is for me… I hate it when there are unnecessary kisses. It just annoys me. There’s so much kisses that appear but they didn’t have to? Or maybe I’m just really BITTER, because I don’t have a love life xD Unless you consider my book boyfriends as part of my love life… which they totally should. Also, the plot was slow at a few points. but that’s totally okay…

The story isn’t exactly original (the bucket list + roadtrip), I mean it’s not something new. I can say that this reminded me so much of Since You Were Gone by Morgan Matson. In that book, Emily tries to get over her shyness; in this book, Anna tries to get over her sister’s death. It’s kind of similar. That’s not bad, and I believe that every story is unique in its own way. This is still a great story no matter what.

I hope you guys read this book when it comes out next year! It’s such an honor to be one of the people who read it earlier. It’s a really good book!

  1. This sounds like such a fun, cute, summery contemporary – but still with a message to be gathered at the end 🌸 Definitely adding to my TBR! Great Review 😊

  2. I really like your review and I felt kind of the same with the romance. There were too many kisses in comparison with other YA novels. I reviewed this book on my blog too – you can read it if you want to. 🙂

  3. This sounds like a gorgeous summer read! Road trips & bucket lists are 2 of my fave things in a contemporary 🙂 And books where family is a prominent theme always gives me so many feels bc I come from such a tight knit family. Definitely gonna give this a read!

    1. Same! Road trips in books make you feel like you’re actually there with the characters! I also love it books that focus on family! Ahem. Second Chance Summer. Ahem. xD
